Position: Program Coordinator

Reports to: Minister

Status: Part-time – Hourly

Hours: 24 hrs/wk. Some Sundays, occasional evenings.

Job Summary​

Support programming at UUCGL by assisting the Parish Minister and the Minister of Community Life and Learning with publicity, technical assistance, and accommodations. Act as hub of communications for the church, integrating consistent and timely messaging among a variety of print and social media and online platforms. Have an active role in membership and leadership efforts and provide support to Parish Minister, Minister of Community Life and Learning, Board of Trustees, and the Business Administrator.

 

Essential Functions

  • Be hub of communications and coordinate consistent messaging among all platforms and vehicles. Maintain library of images.

  • Prepare the Weekly Update. Receive, organize, and edit submissions; initiate and respond to phone calls and e-mails related to submissions; input, lay out and distribute Weekly Update to all subscribers. 

  • Prepare weekly Order of Service and Announcements for Sunday service.  Receive information from staff and church volunteers. Research needed announcements. Print, collate, and distribute in timely manner. 

  • Work with web designer to manage website. Upload videos and blog posts. Maintain and update weekly listings and others as needed. Maintain and update church YouTube page weekly and as needed. 

  • Update Facebook regularly throughout the week, delete inappropriate comments and respond positively to comments. Refresh ads as needed. Curate an archive of images.

  • Create printed materials as necessary and ensure consistent messaging and design.

  • Support marketing campaigns by creating and disseminating promotional materials. 

  • Be available for occasional Sundays or evenings to provide support for virtual meetings or programs. 

  • Assist the Parish Minister and the Minister of Community Life and Learning in support of the Community Programming initiative.  

  • Support the Board of Trustees as needed. Update and maintain board documents by incorporating new policies/procedures into existing documents. Maintain and archive board documents. Assist with board orientation. Publish annual board calendar. Assist with preparations for monthly board meetings as needed. Assist with arrangements for board/leadership retreats. Attend board meetings as requested.

  • Handle a variety of membership duties, including, but not limited to, the annual Board membership review, the annual pledge drive, the annual UUA certification process and annual GA arrangements.

  • Prepare the UUCGL annual report. Compile, print and distribute. 

Minimum Qualifications

Experience in all phases of office procedures, including word processing, spreadsheets, relational databases, newsletter preparation, routine technology needed for Zoom and other virtual applications. Proficiency with downloading and uploading video segments among various platforms.

 

Ability to multitask. Strong inclination for community relations. Excellent time management skills. Creative thinking. Excellent phone etiquette. Strong organizational skills. Polite, clear, and receptive communication skills. Flexibility and dependability. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Physical Requirements

Able to walk through the building, upstairs and downstairs, and the outside property to monitor needs. Able to lift supply boxes and use a step stool or ladder. Able to communicate over the phone and online. Driver’s license.

Salary $26/hour

Health and dental benefits. Pension contributions after one year.
