ABOUT US OUR UU FAITH MINISTRY TEAMS OUR CHURCH HISTORY WELCOMING CONGREGATION DIRECTORY
WELCOMING CONGREGATION
A guiding principle of Unitarian Universalism and of this church is the inherent worth and dignity of all people. In line with this principle we have done the intentional work to become officially recognized by the Unitarian Universalist Association as a Welcoming Congregation to bisexual, gay, lesbian, and transgender people. It is a central expression of our congregation’s religious identity to be open and welcoming to all people no matter the sexual orientation or gender identity. This openness is expressed in several ways—

Marriage Equality
Our minister and whole congregation welcome the opportunity to officiate at and host the weddings of same-gender couples. Many members of this church were actively involved with advocating for marriage equality in Massachusetts.

Pride Celebrations
Each June many members of our community take part in the North Shore Pride Parade and the Boston Pride Parade.

Comprehensive Sexuality Education
Our congregation offers a comprehensive sexuality education curriculum called Our Whole Lives (O.W.L.). This curriculum helps young people of all sexual orientations (bisexual, lesbian, gay, and heterosexual) develop healthy relationships and safe sexual practices.
