All are invited to join the Social Justice Ministry Team in the Skylight Room this Sunday at 11:15am. We’ll be writing “Remember to Vote” postcards in an effort to ensure all voices are heard in the important upcoming election. In addition, we will be identifying volunteer opportunities. Currently, we focus on food security and immigration, and this fall on voting rights.
Let’s also start a conversation on what social justice is. According to Cornel West, “Justice is what love looks like in public.” Come with ideas on how we can show love. Mutual aid and giving help in the immediate moment are important. Tackling bigger issues, systemic issues, is tougher, but we like to think that working toward solving them will eliminate the need for mutual aid if all in this country had equal access to a living wage, safe housing, healthcare, opportunity, and the list goes on.
Come for 10 minutes and write a few postcards, or stay the whole time and join the discussion. And if you can’t make it, let's connect!
