Neighboring Faiths

We’re excited to offer the Neighboring Faiths program this year! Designed for youth in grades 5-8 (older youth are welcome, too), this program explores the rich diversity of religious traditions in our community and around the world.

Throughout the year, youth, parents, and guides will visit local faith communities to experience different forms of worship, learn from religious leaders and congregants, and reflect on their own values through a Unitarian Universalist lens. Many adult UUs remember Neighboring Faiths as a meaningful part of their spiritual growth, and we hope this year’s participants will find it equally enriching.

From November through May, we plan to meet twice each month:

  • One Sunday for a visit to a local faith community

  • One Sunday for discussion, reflection, and preparation for upcoming visits

We may also explore major world religions that we do not visit in person.

While we aim for a consistent schedule, holidays and other calendar considerations may require adjustments. On visit days, families should plan to drop off youth at church around 9:30 a.m. so we can travel together. Pickup times will vary depending on the length of the service we attend.

The class is open to the public. Feel free to share this invitation and registration form with friends who may be interested in joining us.

Register HERE by October 29th!
