Sunday Morning

You may wonder what to expect when you visit with us for the first time. This is a brief description of our Sunday mornings.

Before the Service

The doors of the church are generally open by 9:00 a.m. Some people come early to quietly reflect in our Fellowship room or the beautiful church courtyard, or to sit quietly in the sanctuary and listen to the choir practice. Community members and church staff will be at the front door to greet you and help you get situated for the morning.

If you are coming with children, you will be introduced to our religious educator who will let you know what will be happening that morning with the children. You will be introduced to the staff of our nursery room if your children have only recently turned 3, or are younger.

The Worship Service

The worship service begins at 10:00 a.m. Everyone (children & adults) start the service together in the sanctuary. There is a special seating area with a crib that has easy access to the Parish Hall for families concerned that they might need to leave early with their children.

Early in the service there is a “Time for All Ages,” which is a story or lesson related to the sermon topic, and the children are welcome to come to the front of the church to take part. After the “Time for All Ages,” the children leave for their religious education program. Parents should feel free to keep their children in the sanctuary with them if they prefer.

The rest of the service generally includes quite reflection, hymn singing, music, readings, and a sermon. Each Sunday there is an offertory where people are asked to help support the church financially. On your first and second visits with us please feel free to let the plate pass. You are our guest and your offering is being with us. Please visit the About Our Worship page to learn more.

Fellowship Hour

After the service please join us in the Parish Hall for refreshments and fellowship. Coffee, tea, and refreshments are served. This is a great place to get to know other members of this community. Children also rejoin their families at fellowship hour.
