An Intergenerational Choir is sometimes organized for certain intergenerational services when special music is relevant to the theme of worship. The end of the year of classes for children, Winter Solstice, Thanksgiving, Easter, or Christmas are some of the occasions for which an Intergenerational Choir has been formed.
The occasional Intergenerational Choir is a perfect way for families to make music together. In addition, they provide an opportunity for children and adults to make an artistic contribution to a service of worship.
The music chosen for Intergenerational Choir projects is always accessible and often involves movement and/or the playing of instruments – such as percussion or handbells – as well as singing. The projects involve a short-term commitment and are enjoyed by the participants as well as the congregation.
