Following the tradition that Paul Ward started, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Greater Lynn, located in Swampscott, opens their doors to drummers for a twice-monthly Drum Circle.
There is rotating leadership, and there are plenty of drums and other percussion instruments available for anyone who wishes to drop in and give it a try. The circle runs from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m on Sundays.
Drumming can be a powerful centering tool and is a community-building experience as well. Rhythm is basic to our bodies, minds, and environments, and there is such simple pleasure in just responding to a beat. If you haven’t ever experienced drumming in a group, you owe it to yourself to give it a try. It’s a wonderful way to enjoy a Sunday afternoon.
No Drums, Shakers. or Percussion Instruments? . . . No Problem. There are extra drums and other percussion items around to freely share.
