Pre-school/Pre-school-Kindergarten

Curriculum – Stories About God

4 and 5 year olds

Stories About God “offer the children a variety of experiences with that which people call God; that is, the ultimate reality, values, and mystery which underlie all the physical, mental and spiritual dimensions of life.”  Stories About God also helps the children “develop a language with which they can speak of God and it exposes the children to a wide variety of stories about God based on insights; from all of the world religions; from feminist experience; from science; and from the ordinary and extraordinary experiences of life.  The children will learn to foster the understanding that God can take many forms and is called many names.”  We hope this curriculum will help children express their own thoughts and feelings concerning God.

Grades 1 – 3

Curriculum – Love Will Guide Us

In this program, our children learn to seek guidance in life through the lens of our Unitarian Universalist Sources, with an emphasis on love.  Together we ask questions such as, “Where did we come from?” “What is our relationship to Earth and other creatures?” “How can we respond with love, even in bad situations?”  What happens when you die?”  Sessions apply wisdom from our Sources to help the children answer these questions.  The children will start to learn that asking questions is valued in Unitarian Universalism.

Grades 4 – 6

Curriculum – Love Connects Us

In this program, our children will explore the meaning of a covenant.  They will learn about Unitarian Universalists who sought truth in love, dwelled together in peace, and helped one another when called on to act.

Grades 7 and 8 – Jr. High

Curriculum - Neighboring Faiths

Neighboring Faiths will introduce our Junior High youth to the faith traditions and practices of other religious groups in the larger community. Our children visit other congregations in the surrounding area.

Frozen Pickles

Junior High Youth Group:  Grades 6 – 8

The Pickles program is activity-based and offers opportunities to build social skills and develop group and religious identity. The Pickles meet once a month on a Sunday afternoon for fun and for service both within the church community and beyond.

Young Religious Unitarian Universalists (YRUU)

Senior High Youth Group:  Grades 9 - 12

Advisors and YRUUs are empowered to build community together by engaging in social events, service projects and worship. Developing leadership is part of our goal, as is building a Unitarian Universalist identity. The group meets twice a month on Sunday afternoons or evenings with occasional special events on other dates.
